About The Boom Boom Room
The Boom Boom Room is a basement bar in an old underground vault beneath the Brisbane CBD, run by Ghanem Group Hospitality. It opened in 2018 as a lounge built around jazz, rhythm and blues and soul, with cocktails named after songs from those genres. The space has several areas, including the Trumpet Room and The Vaults.
After a short break it reopened on 6 March 2026 as a supper club. Early evenings pair DJ sets and live grooves with Asian street-food sharing plates. Later on there are soul and jazz performers, burlesque and vinyl DJs past midnight. Thursdays are an all-vinyl listening night.
