About The Stag
The Stag Public House is a heritage-listed hotel on the corner of Rundle Street and East Terrace, with origins going back to 1849. It was revamped and reopened under its current name in 2018, with a pool room and a separate sport room.
After several months of renovations it reopened again in January 2026 under Big Easy Group as a food-focused classic Aussie pub, serving as the front bar to the Tarantino's restaurant in the same building. The owners said live entertainment and seven-day trading would follow, alongside a weekly quiz night.
