About The Exeter Hotel

The Exeter is a heritage pub in Adelaide's East End, first licensed in 1851 and rebuilt in its current form in 1888, with a green-tiled facade from a 1929 refurbishment. It was listed as a local heritage place in 2001.

It is known for its graffiti-covered walls, its curries and local beers. Bands and local DJs play most weekends, and Australian Traveller's 2026 list of the best Adelaide pubs notes it is often called the country's best pub. A balcony over Rundle Street is available for functions.
