About ChiChiz Bar

ChiChiz is a queer-owned bar at 32 Northbourne Avenue, described as an upscale dive bar celebrating queer culture. It has two floors, with the upstairs bar available for private hire, and its focus is on drinks rather than a kitchen. The menu includes cheeky cocktails such as glitter-garnished martinis, premium pours and zero-proof options.

The program runs on most nights. The venue's site lists free trivia and karaoke on Wednesdays, upstairs open-bar karaoke on Fridays, line dancing on alternate Fridays, and live local music with a DJ from 10pm on Saturdays. Drag shows, cabaret, themed parties and queer art nights have also been reported.

It was founded by a trio of friends, with Travis Moore as Operations Director, and opened on a Friday 19 December, reported in HerCanberra.
