Pub with late cocktails

Assembly

11 Lonsdale Street, Braddon. Big beer garden and a full bistro, so it works as the first stop or the last.

About Assembly

Assembly is a large pub on Lonsdale Street in Braddon, built into the former Paddy Pallin store and Braddon Cellars. The fit-out is industrial-pub in style, with long timber tables, leather booths, polished concrete floors, exposed brick and two concrete bars. Bi-fold windows open to the street, and a backyard beer garden is centred on a 50-year-old English oak.

Time Out describes live gigs in the evenings with dancing, and the venue also serves barista coffee and breakfast, so it works as an all-day pub as well as a late-night stop. Food leans to shared plates, rotisserie chicken, lamb shoulder, burgers and charcuterie, with a short wine list and a dozen taps at launch. Time Out lists a Sunday margarita deal and heaters in the beer garden for winter.

It opened on 20 June 2019 under owner Wes Heincke, previously of Edgar's Inn in Ainslie, who did much of the fit-out with his team. Trading in 2026 is not confirmed by a 2026 source; the most recent pages found are from 2022 to 2024.
