About Carousel

Carousel Bar and Ballroom is a 1970s-inspired, cabaret-style club upstairs on Oxford Street, built around a rotating stage. The ballroom holds up to 350 standing, with three bars, a 58-speaker Funktion-One sound system and lighting imported from Amsterdam.

The music is house in its many forms, from deep and tech house to minimal and experimental, with local and touring DJs. Main club nights run on Fridays and Saturdays from 10pm, often after early comedy shows, and Carousel Sundays are free entry. In 2025 it ranked No. 83 in Nightlife International's World's 100 Best Clubs, the highest-placed Australian club.
