Pub & live music
The Royal Oak Hotel
14 Brisbane Street, Launceston. The city’s classic live-music pub.

About The Royal Oak Hotel
The Royal Oak is a heritage corner pub beside City Park, licensed since 1854 and one of the few Launceston venues with live music several nights a week. Bands play in the refurbished Oak Shed band room out the back, with touring and local acts through 2026.
Inside there is a bistro serving seasonal pub food with vegetarian and vegan options, an upstairs cocktail bar with board games, function rooms and a rooftop bar with a firepit. Staff talk about a resident ghost called Cyril.
